Assistant
Clan Chief Terry "Sunrise" Dickens

My
Grandmother moved her family from Alabama to New
Jersey, to escape the racisms of the South that not
only plagued the African-American but of the American
Indian as well. My Grandmother married Tom Grant who
was a mixed blood Cherokee and African-American. My
Father was from Alabama as well; He was a mixed blood
Cherokee also, however his family were not slaves. In
1870 there was a article in the Mobile Alabama Press
about my Great Grandfather, stating that a great
Cherokee Chief had Died. His name was John R. Dickens,
his son's name was John H. Dickens and my father's
name was John J. Dickens. I spent eight years in the
US Army, I had a secret clearance in Germany when I
was one of the sergeants chosen to be assigned to
NATO. I was also the district director for the
Philippine American Martial Arts association for the
Colorado region. I have a Master of Divinity Degree .
I am not a Confederate in the meaning of the word. But
I am Cherokee Indian.
Wado,
Chief
Terry "Sunrise" Dickens
